CSinPA K-8 Pathway - Spring 2021

Learn why CS is important and how to provide equitable CS experiences for all students.

AIU 8 and TIU 11 are collaborating to offer the CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway, a computer science (CS) professional learning program for K-8 educators.

The Pathway is a 100% virtual experience consisting of asynchronous and synchronous online activities that support participants in the development and implementation of a small-scale implementation pilot to expand CS access for students. The Pathway is provided at no cost and Act 48 credit is available.

The Pathway supports K-8 educators involved with CS instruction, whether as stand-alone classes or by integrating CS concepts and practices into other content-area instruction

Timeline

The Pathway consists of 8 sequential “modules” of professional learning, each containing 6 hours of activities.  Most of the activities are asynchronous and can be completed at your own pace.

A new module will be released every three weeks, beginning in late January.

Act 48

The CSinPA K-8 Virtual Pathway includes 48 hours of professional learning. The K-8 Pathway is NOT a series of stand-alone workshops. It is designed as a carefully scaffolded experience with supports for educators across the entire program. For this reason, Act 48 credit is only available to participants who fully participate and complete all required activities; partial credit is not available.
