TIU 11 Regional Competition – March 2nd


2018 Theme -“Improving Pennsylvania Through STEM”
TIU 11 will be hosting the Regional Competition on March 2nd, 2018 at the Main Office in McVeytown.
Teams of students from across the commonwealth will be challenged toto research, present, and design a device or project that can make the quality of life better for citizens of Pennsylvania. High school teams will be provided a $500 stipend to design and build a prototype of their device/project that can accomplish a series of practical tasks that can be translated into real life needs. Approximately 170 teams (limit one team per high school) are expected to participate.
Open to all Pennsylvania students in grades 9-12. Up to teams of five students are selected from each interested school to compete. Students will work under the guidance of a teacher mentor who is approved by the school. The competition is open to all public, charter, and private schools, as well as, career technical education centers.
The winning team from the TIU 11 Regional Competition will be invited to compete in the State Competition on May 18th, 2018.
